That was with python 2.3.5 as installed on a Tiger system. I ended up fixing that issue by installing python 2.4.4 with MacPorts and then changing the symlink in ${ZENHOME}/bin/python to point to the 2.4.4 python binary.

Yes. Thanks. This worked. I copied _pywmi.dylib to _pywmi.so (without your typo) and it now runs cleanly.
