[zenoss-users] "performance scan job not finishing" in zenprocess.log

I'm getting this with regularity in zenprocess.log:

What exactly is going on here?

If I were to hazard a guess, there's not enough of one or more of the following:

- cpu
- memory
- bandwidth to one or more monitored devices

According to 'top', the cpu is mostly idle, there's over a half gig of memory free, and swap is unused.  Oh, and %wait is really, really low.

So that leaves bandwidth.  Which is a bit of a concern, given the constrained enviroment I'm running up against.

Thing is, when I saw the "threshold of zenprocess cycle time exceeded" warnings coming up in the localhost alerts last night (and last night was the first time, btw), I merely cycled zenprocess and things seemed good again.

I tried cycling it tonight, to no avail.

At any rate, I just wanted to confirm that I'm on track with this, and whether there's any way to mitigate what I'm doing.

This brings up another question, but I'll save that for another thread.
